His academic excellence earned him early admission to the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree in 1990. Furthering his specialization, Dr. John completed the University of Louisville Orthodontic Residency Program, receiving both his Master’s Degree in Oral Biology and Orthodontic Degree in 1992.

Dr. John is known for his commitment to providing exceptional orthodontic care. He operates in a state-of-the-art facility, equipped with the latest orthodontic technology, and also manages a satellite office in Murray. His approach to orthodontics is patient-centered, focusing on high-quality treatment in a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere.

Professionally, Dr. John has been at the forefront of orthodontic advancements. He maintains active memberships in several prestigious dental associations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Southern Association of Orthodontists. His leadership is evidenced by his tenure as President of the Kentucky Association of Orthodontists (2004-2005) and the Purchase Dental Society (1998). Additionally, he is deeply involved in his community, supporting organizations like the United Way and Hope Unlimited.

Dr. John’s connection to Paducah extends beyond his professional commitments. He values the close-knit community and the opportunity to engage in various leisure activities, including sports and outdoor adventures. His dedication to his profession and community makes Dr. John a respected and integral figure in Paducah’s dental and orthodontic landscape.

Dr. Drew is originally from Louisville Kentucky, where he graduated from Trinity High School. A lifelong Cardinal fan, he attended the University of Louisville, where he received his B.A. in Biology in 2008 and D.M.D. degree in 2012. It was at UofL where he met his future wife, Dr. John’s eldest daughter, Jennifer.

Upon graduation from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry Dr. Drew practiced as a dentist in the U.S. ARMY for four years, stationed at Ft. Campbell KY. After active duty service he and his family moved to Paducah where he operated Tritle Family Dentistry from 2016 to 2020. During this time he completed over 600 hours of continuing education courses, including US ARMY short courses, instruction at the Pankey Institute, as well as the Augusta University AAID MAXICourse.

This background in general dentistry gave Dr. Drew ample opportunity to see the effects that misalignment of teeth and jaws can have over the course of a lifetime. He has also seen the positive impact that properly aligned teeth and jaws can have on an individuals self confidence, self worth and oral health. He believes that ‘form follows function,’ and that a well designed smile is one that is both esthetic and promotes optimal health of the teeth, jaws and supporting structures. Seeing the impact, value and proactive nature of Orthodontics led me to pursue residency training at the Georgia School of Orthodontics in 2020. After three years of extensive training utilizing state of the art technology and advancements in the field, he earned his Certificate in Orthodontics from GSO in August of 2023 and has been excited to be working with the Colgan-Tritle team ever since!

Dr. Drew and his wife, Jennifer, share 4 children together, Daniel, Lilly, Violet, and James. Their Christian faith is very important to them and they are active parishioners at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Paducah. They love spending time outdoors hiking and exploring or at the lake swimming and paddle boarding.
